Would you ever consider doing another powerlifting meet in Kirksville? Kind of missing the old days of powerlifting with the crew. Just a question

Yeah ET!!! That's what I was talking about. I think back in the day the irondogs at truman set it up but then I think Thom and the crew were involved too.

Funny you should mention the JW Classic.... | ||

Just last friday I was over talking the the faculty advisor (AKA coach) of the Irondogs powerlifting team. I asked him about the John Ware Classic and he said simply that they did not have anybody in their club that powerlifted anymore.....all oly lifters (and the sad part is the numbers are at an all time low AND mostly women). Now, I don't want any one to think I'm a woman hater (insert "I love them every chance I get" joke here), BUT where are all the men going????? So, the John Ware Classic is now gone but hopefully not gone for good. There was really one guy that made that meet happen and that was Zach Cooper and when he left it just kind of fell apart. Kind of like if I moved, all the contests I put on in this area would probably just cease. At any rate, I probably would not be interested in doing a powerlifting meet BUT I am doing a USAWA meet at my place on Nov. 21st and everyone would be welcome. It's a record day so you could do whatever lift you wanted. I will also be planning on have a couple of USAWA meets next year. Thom I just always thought that if a guy trained hard enough, he could lift anything he wanted to lift. Wayne Jackson |

I remember Zach. he was a good guy and really enjoyed powerlifting. Those were fun times at the John Ware. Heck I had fun with lifted up there period at the
old "GYM" downtown! that's where I met Brian Kerby! Ahh memories.
I would like to come up there for the 21st but...well....I guess Clark hates my guts still so I would rather not have any issues or conflict. Lord only knows if I did a USAWA meet what clark would do. Sorry Thom and good luck with that. |

Well, D, you are welcome at my place regardless and Bill is retiring and he has told me he won't be at my meet. Drop me an e-mail some time. Thom
